About this session

Numerous organizations within Microsoft turned to Grafana to enhance their analytical capabilities and provide flexible tools for interpreting complex datasets, won over by Grafana’s extensibility, open source nature, and robust support for diverse data sources. In this lightning talk, Microsoft Software Engineer John Naizer will walk through his team’s migration to Grafana for executive dashboards to track metrics, manage incidents, update key performance indicators, and maintain service quality. In the process, the team built a new authentication system that offered greater security than the existing native Microsoft Azure authentication in Grafana and contributed the enhanced security feature to the Grafana open source project. John will discuss the decision to contribute directly to Grafana’s codebase to deliver robust, built-in security for Azure users while paving the way for a scalable and adaptable authentication framework that immediately benefits other cloud providers too.
