Grafana Labs Cookie Policy

Grafana Labs and its third party partners use cookies, mobile identifiers, tracking URLs, log data and similar technologies to help provide, protect, and improve Grafana Labs’ products. In many cases, the information we collect using cookies and other tools is only used in a non-identifiable manner. For example, we may use information we collect to better understand website traffic patterns and to optimize our website experience. Why Grafana Labs Uses These Technologies

We use these technologies to enable our ability to provide services, such as:

When you use Grafana Labs’ products, we may place cookies on your device. FLASH COOKIES

We may use flash cookies, also known as Local Stored Objects, and similar technologies to personalize and enhance your online experience. A flash cookie is a small data file placed on a computer using Adobe Flash technology. The Adobe Flash Player is an application that allows rapid development of dynamic content, such as video clips and animation.

We do not share Flash Cookie data with third parties, and we do not use Flash Cookies to deliver targeted advertising. We use flash cookies to personalize and enhance your online experience and to deliver content for Flash players. We may also use flash cookies for security purposes, to gather certain website metrics and to help remember settings and preferences. PIXEL TAGS, WEB BEACONS, AND TRACKERS

Pixel tags, web beacons, tracking URLs and clear GIFs are tiny graphic images and/or small blocks of code placed on website pages, ads, or in our emails that allow us and our partners to determine whether you performed a specific action. When you access these pages, or when you open an email, they let us know you have accessed the web page or opened the email. These tools help us measure response to our communications and improve our web pages and promotions. They also enable partners to compile information about your browsing activity on the websites for personalization and online targeted advertising.

OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Our websites may use other tracking methods such as browser fingerprinting, keystroke analytics and session recorders. These tools allow us to understand how you use our services such as by enabling a DVR-like replay of user sessions on our website, analyzing usage trends, and to detect bots and other threats.

SERVER LOGS

A server log is a text file that records activities on our web services. We collect many different types of information from server logs. For example, we collect information about the device you use to access Grafana Labs’ products, your operating system type, browser type, domain, and other system settings, as well as the language your system uses and the country and time zone where your device is located. Our server logs also record the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet. An IP address is a unique identifier that devices require to identify and communicate with each other on the Internet. We may also collect information about the website you were visiting before you came to the Grafana Product and the website you visit after you leave the Grafana Product. We may also collect information about your use of Grafana Labs’ products such as when we provide accessibility tools or redesign our pages for better usability. The tools described help us improve user experience and deliver our services.

DEVICE INFORMATION

We may use device-related information to authenticate users. For example, we may use your IP address, browser information, or other data provided by your browser or device to identify the device being used to access our products. We may also use these device-related techniques for associating you with different devices that you may use to access our content including for fraud-protection purposes and to better target advertising.

THIRD PARTIES

Third parties, including Google, Github, LinkedIn, and YouTube, , place technologies such as pixels and SDKs on our websites and in Grafana Labs’ products Grafana Labs permits third parties to collect the information for the purposes described above, including providing advertising on our products and elsewhere based on users’ online activities over time and across different sites, services, devices.

Our websites may also enable you to interact with us and others via third party or social media platforms, such as Google and GitHub. If you engage with our content on or through social media sites, you may allow us to have access to certain information associated with your third party account (e.g., name, username, email address, profile picture). Additionally, platforms collect persistent identifiers through your browser or mobile operating system, so they may collect information about your use of our websites. If you have previously provided personal information to these platforms, the platform operators may recognize you here. THIRD-PARTY LOGIN PLUGINS

Grafana Labs’ products may use plugins provided and operated by third parties, such as through Microsoft, GitHub, Google, and AWS. As a result of this, you may send to the third-party the information that you are viewing on a certain part of a Grafana Labs product. If you are not logged into your account with the third party, then the third party may not know your identity. If you are logged in to your account with the third party, then the third party may be able to link information or actions about your interactions with Grafana Labs’ products to your account with them.
