Attending Grafana ObservabilityCON? Here’s what you need to know

It’s almost time for ObservabilityCON! We’re looking forward to four days of bringing the Grafana community together for our first virtual event dedicated to IT observability. The event kicks off Monday, October 26, at 16:00 UTC with an opening keynote that will be chock full of exciting announcements you don’t want to miss.

To help you prepare, here’s a quick guide to getting the most out of ObservabilityCON:

Viewing sessions and participating in Q&As

The ObservabilityCON event page will be your go-to destination for viewing sessions and participating in live Q&As. You’ll also find the event schedule and session detail pages there. For sessions with a Q&A at the end, the presenters will answer questions via video on the livestream. To submit your questions, look for the Q&A submission box right on the event page.

Slack and Ask the Experts

Want to connect with other ObservabilityCON attendees? Have questions about the event? Join the Grafana Labs Community Slack workspace and drop into the #ObservabilityCON channel. Don’t forget to say hello and introduce yourself; we’re a friendly bunch!

Slack will also be the home of our Ask the Experts channel. This is a great opportunity to get real-time observability-related advice on Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Cortex, or Graphite from members of the Grafana Labs team. Post a topic or question, and our channel moderators will connect you with an expert who can help you work through your toughest problems, advise on best practices, and answer any questions you have.

The Ask the Experts channel will be staffed from 16:00 - 19:00 UTC each day of the conference from October 26-29. Join the #observabilitycon-ask-the-experts channel on Slack, and let us know what you’re looking for tips on. We will answer directly or facilitate 1:1s via Slack or Google Meet.

Please keep in mind that our Grafana Labs Event Code of Conduct applies to all our events. By consistently and swiftly enforcing it, we help ensure a great event experience for everyone and keep our community healthy.

Hands-on workshops with project maintainers

Looking for hands-on help with Loki or Prometheus? Prometheus and Loki maintainers, along with our solutions engineers, will be hosting hands-on workshops. Seats are limited, so register now:

Are you new to Grafana and want a 101 session? We are also offering an “Intro to Grafana” workshop. This is a beginner’s session for all those who are just getting started with Grafana. No developer/coding experience needed. The session is just one hour, with unlimited seating. Click here to register.

Social media

If you’re enjoying ObservabilityCON and want to spread the word on social, don’t forget to tag #ObservabilityCON on your posts. We love it when the community shares pictures of where you’re watching the sessions from — especially when there are “guests” like small humans or animal friends that want to say hello!
