  • Duration

  • Hands-On Lab
    Hands-On Lab

Imagine investigating an incident and being able to narrow scope, switch context, and reveal deeper details, all from within the same dashboard.

In this hands-on lab, you’ll learn how to build and manage production-grade Grafana dashboards that deliver just that. You’ll use dynamic dashboards to create adaptive, context-aware experiences that guide users through different stages of analysis, from high-level overviews to scoped investigations and detailed incident views.

You’ll learn how to combine tabs, hidden panels, ad-hoc filters, template variables, and transformations to build dashboards that adapt to different questions and audiences. You’ll leverage Git Sync to review and manage dashboards as code, using pull request workflows to ensure your work is reliable, collaborative, and protected as it moves between environments.

By the end of three hours, you will:

  • Build dynamic, context-aware dashboards using features like variables, hidden panels, repeat panels, and tabs
  • Implement advanced filtering with ad-hoc filters, per-panel filters, and panel-to-panel interactions
  • Edit dashboards more efficiently using auto layouts, saved queries, and visualization suggestions
  • Apply the right transformations for your use case with an understanding of server-side vs. client-side execution and SQL expressions
  • Streamline dashboard workflows using Git Sync for reviews, UI-driven change management, and environment promotion
