As Salesforce’s Chief Availability Officer, Darryn Dieken is responsible for the reliability, quality, and operations of Salesforce cloud services. He leads the teams responsible for building the management, monitoring, and reporting platforms used to operate Salesforce services, and systems, processes, and reporting used to support customers’ availability and trust.

Darryn joined Salesforce in February 2017 as EVP - Infrastructure Engineering. He led the Infrastructure Product and Program Management team, which was responsible for Infrastructure Strategy, Planning, and Execution.

Darryn previously worked for Microsoft from 1995-2016, holding various roles in engineering management. He was the Corporate Vice President for Cloud Capacity Management and Engineering, and Corporate Vice President for Bing.

Darryn attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, and graduated in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and minors in mathematics and business administration.

Darryn lives in Sammamish, Washington, with his wife Ellen. He has two kids: Shayna graduated from the nursing school at University of Portland and is currently working at Swedish hospital, and Andrew graduated with a computer science degree from Chapman University and is working at a startup in San Francisco. In his free time, Darryn enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, and scuba diving.
