You’ve chosen Kafka monitoring. An great choice for event streaming observability.

What you’re about to do is a hands-on learning path. You’ll configure Grafana Alloy to collect Kafka metrics via JMX, set up remote access on your brokers, and get pre-built dashboards showing broker health, topic statistics, consumer lag, and cluster performance.

We’re starting at milestone 2 since you’ve already covered the “why” of integrations in this course. The journey picks up with understanding Kafka monitoring value and then walks you through installing and configuring Grafana Alloy.

Each milestone below expands to show you exactly what to do. Work through them in order, as each milestone builds on the previous one. You’ll need access to your Kafka broker servers to configure JMX settings.

When you’ve completed all the milestones, click the “Complete Path” button below to celebrate your success.
