You’ve chosen the MySQL integration, which is essential for database observability.

What you’re about to do is a hands-on learning path. You’ll configure Grafana Alloy to collect MySQL metrics and logs, set up a monitoring user in your database, and get pre-built dashboards showing query performance, connection stats, InnoDB health, and replication status.

We’re starting at milestone 3 since you’ve already covered the “why” of integrations and database monitoring in this course. The journey picks up with selecting your platform and installing Grafana Alloy.

You have three options for completing this exercise. You can open it directly in your Grafana Cloud stack for a fully interactive experience. You can try it in the Grafana Play environment if you want to explore without affecting your own stack. Or you can read through the learning path on the website to understand the process before trying it yourself.

You’ll need administrative access to your MySQL server to create the monitoring user. When you’re done, click “Path completed” to continue with the course.
