Linux server learning path

You’ve chosen the Linux server integration, a great choice for getting started with infrastructure monitoring.

What you’re about to do is a hands-on learning path. This isn’t just reading. You’ll be deploying the Linux integration to your own server, milestone by milestone. By the end, you’ll have metrics and logs flowing from your Linux host to Grafana Cloud, with pre-built dashboards showing CPU, memory, disk, and network health.

We’re starting at milestone 2 since you’ve already covered the “why” of integrations in this course. The journey picks up with selecting your Linux distribution and then walks you through installing and configuring Grafana Alloy.

Each milestone below expands to show you exactly what to do. Work through them in order, as each milestone builds on the previous one. Take your time, and don’t hesitate to pause if you need to troubleshoot or explore.
