Level 4 deep dives

If Level 4 is your focus, the main deep dive will be Custom Instrumentation. That course will cover OpenTelemetry SDKs, adding custom spans to your code, and exposing custom metrics that matter to your application.

Once you have custom metrics and spans, you use the same alerting, SLO, and dashboard skills you’ll learn about in Operational Practices. The difference is the data: instead of auto-instrumented metrics, you’re working with metrics you defined.
