Course overview

Who this course is for

  • Teams managing multiple collector instances
  • Platform engineers building observability infrastructure
  • Anyone who’s tired of managing collector configs one-by-one

What you’ll learn

ModuleSkills
Health monitoringRegister collectors, interpret health dashboards, troubleshoot issues
Remote configurationCategorize your collectors, use attribute matching, configure at scale

What you’ll do

This is a hands-on course. You’ll complete two learning paths:

  1. Monitor collector health — Register a collector and explore health dashboards
  2. Categorize your collector fleet — Organize collectors with remote attributes for configuration management

Script

Welcome to Intro to Fleet Management! If you’re running collectors across multiple servers, containers, or Kubernetes clusters, you’ve probably felt the pain of managing them individually. Updating configurations means SSH-ing into machines or redeploying pods. Checking health means jumping between dashboards. It doesn’t scale.

Grafana Fleet Management solves this problem by giving you a central control plane for all your collectors. From one interface in Grafana Cloud, you can see every collector’s health, make configuration changes remotely, and troubleshoot issues without touching the underlying infrastructure.

This course will teach you both the concepts and the hands-on skills. You’ll learn what Fleet Management is and how it works, then you’ll actually register a collector and monitor its health. After that, you’ll learn how to create configuration pipelines and match them to collectors to remotely configure your fleet.

By the end, you’ll have working Fleet Management skills.
