Understand root cause analysis using the Asserts Entity Explorer

Frontend Observability integrates with Asserts technology to provide enhanced root cause analysis for your frontend applications. This integration leverages the Entity Explorer and related RCA workbench to broaden your perspective into the system so that you can understand which components are related, such as services, tools, and events. This provides a faster path to understanding issues and decreases mean time to repair.

Using Asserts, you can take troubleshooting deeper by understanding the root cause of an issue with your frontend application. For example, your application could be returning errors because backend services can’t connect to a database.

Asserts also provides health metrics that offer hints that the system has issues that might require more attention.

Access RCA workbench

Within Frontend Observability, access RCA workbench to continue root cause analysis. From any Frontend Observability dashboard where the Assertions button appears, click it and then click Troubleshoot in Workbench to continue your investigation into issues.

For example, you can use RCA workbench to discover which service downstream might be impacting the frontend performance.

Access the Asserts Entity Explorer

You can jump to the connections view in Asserts to view connections between entities. From any Frontend Observability dashboard where the Assertions button appears, click it and then click View connected entities.
