Hi there, I’m Jodie, a graduate from Leeds Beckett University (U.K.), where I studied Mathematics and Computer Science and was awarded a Distinction grade at Master’s level. Healthcare and health-focused projects were a consistent theme across my academic career, and I have continued down that path professionally, currently working as a software developer at a leading healthcare company. I love getting involved in tech events such as hack days and meetups, but this will be my first-ever talk! I love helping people and have a dream of making the world a better place, so any chance to meet like-minded people, I am in. Other things about me: I love cats and colors and dyeing my hair, tattoos, and sitcoms.

He holds an Assistant Professorship at Lancaster University in the U.K., with a research portfolio in modeling complex energy systems and a Visiting Assistant Professorship at Babeș-Bolyai University in Romania, in data visualization and business intelligence. He is also the dataviz lead for the Romanian Economic Impact Monitor in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and the Economics Observatory in Bristol, U.K.

He is actively involved in mentoring youth in Hungary and Romania, trying to inspire the next generation of (systems) thinkers.

As Salesforce’s Chief Availability Officer, Darryn Dieken is responsible for the reliability, quality, and operations of Salesforce cloud services.  He leads the teams responsible for building the management, monitoring, and reporting platforms used to operate Salesforce services, and systems, processes, and reporting used to support customers’ availability and trust.

Darryn joined Salesforce in February 2017 as EVP - Infrastructure Engineering. He led the Infrastructure Product and Program Management team, which was responsible for Infrastructure Strategy, Planning, and Execution.

Darryn previously worked for Microsoft from 1995-2016, holding various roles in engineering management. He was the Corporate Vice President for Cloud Capacity Management and Engineering, and Corporate Vice President for Bing.

Darryn attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, and graduated in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and minors in mathematics and business administration.

Darryn lives in Sammamish, Washington, with his wife Ellen. He has two kids: Shayna graduated from the nursing school at University of Portland and is currently working at Swedish hospital, and Andrew graduated with a computer science degree from Chapman University and is working at a startup in San Francisco. In his free time, Darryn enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, and scuba diving.

Joe is a Senior Software Engineer with Salesforce Commerce Cloud. He helps support CarbonJ, which is a Salesforce open sourced Java implementation of the Carbon metric processing system. CarbonJ is highly optimized for performance and scale while providing compatibility with other open source components of the metrics ecosystem, like Graphite-Web and Grafana.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel and their dog Jordan, who is named after the country where they got engaged.
