Description

In today’s world, we are working with so many different types of systems - microservices, distributed systems, and others that are kind of huge spider webs. Now imagine testing these distributed systems while having no clue of what’s going on under the hood. I lived that: I worked on a distributed system that had some monitoring and logging in place, but we had no clue where to look when things went wrong in production.

We needed to have more powerful insights of the internals of the system, and visibility to understand what’s happening, in order to give the team the superpower to predict the future. This is where we started the first steps into observability. In this talk, I’ll share my journey of adopting a culture of observability within the engineering team.
