GCP Private Service Connect

Note

Sending telemetry data to Grafana Cloud via GCP Private Service Connect is currently in public preview. Grafana Labs offers limited support, and breaking changes might occur prior to the feature being made generally available.

Private Service Connect, also known as PSC, allows private consumption of services across VPC networks that belong to different groups, teams, projects, or organizations. You can publish and consume services using IP addresses that you define and that are internal to your VPC network. You can use Private Service Connect to access Google APIs and services, or managed third party services in another VPC network.

With PSC for Grafana Cloud, you can send telemetry from your GCP private network to Grafana Cloud while keeping traffic within the GCP network.

By sending telemetry to Grafana Cloud using PSC, you avoid traversing the public internet. This has security benefits and helps lower your network egress costs.

GCP PSC endpoints are available in all regions where Grafana Cloud is hosted. You can use these endpoints instead of the normal public endpoints you use to send telemetry data to Grafana Cloud.

These Grafana Cloud services support GCP PSC:

  • Mimir/Prometheus
  • Loki
  • Tempo
  • Pyroscope
  • OTLP endpoints.

Refer to Configure GCP Private Service Connect for instructions on how to send data to Grafana Cloud using GCP PSC.
