Configure services

Before Adaptive Profiles can analyze your profiling data and generate insights, you must first configure which services you want to monitor.

Add, manage, and remove individual services from your Adaptive Profiles configuration.

Add services to Adaptive Profiles

Complete the following steps to apply Adaptive Profiles to a new service.

  1. Navigate to Adaptive Profiles > Configuration tab.
  2. Click the + Add service button.
  3. In the Enable Adaptive Profiles for service dialog box that appears, enter the service name you want to add.
  4. Click Add to save and apply the new configuration.

Temporarily increase the profile sample rate

If you need to investigate a specific service’s performance, you can temporarily increase its profiling rate to 100%. The maximum increase is 8 hours.

  1. Navigate to Adaptive Profiles > Configuration tab.

  2. Find the service you want to investigate in the list.

  3. Click the Temporarily increase profile sample rate icon next to the service.

  4. In the Manage service dialog box that opens, specify a duration for how long you want to capture all profiles.

  5. Enter a reason for the temporary increase, which is useful for auditing.

  6. Click Increase to begin the temporary full-sampling period.

    You can also view the history of increases for this service.

Turn off Adaptive Profiles for a service

Complete the following steps to remove a service from Adaptive Profiles, which causes it to revert to 100% profiling.

  1. Navigate to Adaptive Profiles > Configuration tab.

  2. Find the service you want to remove from the list.

  3. Click the trash can icon..

    A confirmation dialog box opens, warning you that this may increase your costs.

  4. Click Delete to confirm the removal.
