We’re thrilled to share that Grafana Labs has been recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Observability Platforms—for the second year in a row.

This year’s report placed Grafana Labs furthest in “Completeness of Vision,” which we believe reflects our deep commitment to building a truly open, composable observability stack that gives users flexibility, control, and the tools to own their observability strategy.

Our performance and impact

We believe our position in this year’s Magic Quadrant reflects the real impact of the innovation we’ve delivered across our open observability stack. Gartner highlighted several areas where Grafana Labs stands out—particularly around cost optimization and our open source ecosystem leadership—but we’re also proud of the continuous innovation and product updates we’ve shipped in the past year.

A major differentiator, as stated in the Critical Capabilities report, is our Adaptive Telemetry suite, which helps customers dramatically reduce observability costs—with average savings of 20% to 50% on metrics and 20% to 40% on logs. These cost efficiencies come without sacrificing visibility or performance, allowing teams to scale observability more sustainably.

Gartner also noted our deep involvement in open source communities, especially Prometheus and OpenTelemetry, which are now used by 71% of organizations, according to our recent Observability Survey. Our commitment to open standards is demonstrated not only through contributions, but through leadership: We recently welcomed OpenTelemetry co-founder Ted Young to Grafana Labs, and we donated our eBPF auto-instrumentation tool, Beyla, to the OpenTelemetry project, reinforcing our investment in building a future where interoperability and transparency are the norm.

While not explicitly called out in Gartner’s evaluation, we’ve seen strong positive feedback from our customers around two major enhancements we introduced in the past year, both focused on helping teams move faster and get to insights with less friction.

First, the Grafana Drilldown apps are making it easier than ever to explore data without having to write complex queries. Second, customers are increasingly adopting Grafana Cloud Asserts, our continuous correlation and root cause analysis tool. Asserts automatically maps dependencies across your stack, continuously analyzes signals, and surfaces relevant insights so you can detect, understand, and resolve issues before they escalate.

Organizations are already using these tools to work smarter and respond faster, and we’re excited to bring it all together with Grafana Assistant (currently in private preview), a context-aware, integrated chat agent that helps users learn about Grafana, explore and query their observability data, manage dashboards, and run investigations—all using natural language.
