Djamel Djedid is currently Head of Application Development and Integrations at DHL Express. Together with his team he takes care of business critical IT systems in various fields of logistics such as shipment tracking, customs clearance, financial transactions, mobile applications, and data analytics. The systems handle millions of shipments per year in Switzerland and millions of data transactions per week. Innovation and high business sense are the heart of his daily decisions. His passion for analytics and SRE have naturally led him and his team to try, adopt, and expand Grafana usage – with no regrets at all. Observability plays a critical role in ensuring and improving business continuity to make sure that shipments get delivered on time. Djamel has over 20 years of IT expertise and has held various Global IT management roles, which have taken him to every region of the globe to enable large scale IT solutions and infrastructure implementations. Outside of work, Djamel is a part-time IT university teacher and an official soccer referee in the French League.
Michael Lerch joined DHL 15 years ago as a developer. Since then, he has been a project manager, team leader, and application owner for Customs clearance and warehouse applications. Michael enjoys the variety of his job from requirements gathering, design, software development, release to production until the support, and, of course, the observability of it all once live. In his free time, Michael enjoys hiking, swimming, golfing, and traveling.
