What are integrations?

What are integrations?

Integrations are pre-packaged monitoring solutions that collect and store data in Grafana Cloud.

How integrations compare to manual setup

What’s included in an integration?

  • Grafana Alloy configuration - Pre-configured collection settings for your technology. Just install the agent and metrics start flowing.
  • Pre-built dashboards - Expert-designed visualizations that surface the metrics that matter. No dashboard building required.
  • Alert rules - Recommended thresholds based on industry best practices like CPU > 90%, disk > 80%, etc. Ready to notify you when something goes wrong.

Think of integrations as monitoring in a box. Instead of spending hours figuring out what metrics to collect, how to configure collection, what dashboards to build, and what alerts to set up, an integration gives you all of that in minutes.

You deploy Grafana Alloy (our open-source telemetry collector) with the integration’s configuration. Metrics flow into Grafana Cloud. Pre-built dashboards light up automatically. Alert rules based on industry best practices start watching for problems.

And all of this is maintained by Grafana Labs. When new metrics become available or best practices evolve, integrations get updated.

This is fundamentally different from data source connections, where you’re just visualizing data that lives elsewhere. Integrations actually collect and store your data in Grafana Cloud, which unlocks the platform’s full capabilities.
