Collaborate with Grafana Assistant
Grafana Assistant becomes even more useful when you share findings, coordinate incident response, and capture reusable prompts. This article covers the collaboration tools available during chat and investigations so your team stays aligned.
Before you begin
- Team workspace: Decide where you share updates, such as incident channels, tickets, runbooks, or internal docs.
- Permissions: Ensure teammates can view the dashboards, investigations, or data sources linked in the conversation.
Share conversation outputs
Use the Copy button on any response to move summaries into incident channels, tickets, or documentation without retyping them.
Ask the Assistant for audience-specific updates, for example, Summarize these findings for the incident channel
and paste the result into your collaboration tool.
When a conversation produces a reusable workflow, export the key prompts and answers into your team knowledge base so future responders can replay the same steps.
Coordinate during incidents
Maintain a running list of dashboards, panels, and queries inside the chat, then repost that summary to the incident channel so new responders know where to start.
Launch investigations when you need structured reports that teammates can read while you continue triaging.
Mention the relevant dashboards or services in each prompt so late arrivals can load the same context without repeating discovery work.
Capture reusable prompts
Bookmark conversations that solved recurring problems and tag them by workflow hub.
Over time, assemble a prompt library tailored to your team so everyone requests metrics, investigations, or debugging guidance the same way.
When a prompt needs improvement, iterate in a fresh chat, validate the result, and document the refined version for the next person who faces the same scenario.
Provide feedback and escalate
Submit thumbs-up or thumbs-down reactions so Grafana Labs can analyze which responses help your team and which ones need refinement.
If usage limits interrupt your work, capture the limit notice and escalate it through your administrators or Grafana support channels so they can adjust budgets or request higher quotas.
