Get check suggestions in Synthetic Monitoring (Experimental)

Synthetic Monitoring can now find public HTTP endpoints that already serve real traffic but don’t have a check yet, and suggest a check for each one. This feature is available in experimental status.

Suggestions come from your stack’s own telemetry. Synthetic Monitoring looks at recent request volume, error rates, and latency for the endpoints your services report. It leaves out anything an existing check already covers and uses AI to rank the rest, so the most important gaps come first.

How it works

Each suggestion shows the evidence behind it: requests per second, 5xx response ratio, and p99 response time, with a link to open the underlying queries in Explore. Each one also shows the namespace whose telemetry reported the endpoint, so you can narrow the list to the services your team owns.

When a suggestion looks right, set it up with Grafana Assistant or open it in the check form with the settings already filled in. Either way, you review every setting before the check is created. Some suggestions are marked as needing setup, for example when an endpoint needs credentials or a request body that telemetry can’t provide. You can dismiss any suggestion you don’t need.

Get started

Click Generate suggestions on the Check Suggestions banner on the Synthetic Monitoring home page. Suggestions are generated with AI, so the banner appears only when Grafana Assistant is enabled and an admin has accepted its terms.
