Grafana Alloy v1.21 is here

Alloy v1.21 is now available, and the OpenTelemetry Engine is in Public Preview.

New in Alloy v1.21

• Upgrade to OpenTelemetry Collector v0.162. New upstream features and breaking changes can be found in the changelog.
• database_observability.sql_server: clustering mode, a health_check collector, and multiple database blocks.
• Many loki.* fixes, including lower CPU usage for long lines in loki.source.file.
• Beyla updated to v3.38.0.

Breaking changes

• loki.write: enabling WAL now requires --stability.level=experimental.
• loki.write: the tenant label was removed from its metrics.
• otelcol.connector.signaltometrics: error_mode now defaults to ignore.
• otelcol.receiver.kafka and otelcol.exporter.kafka: metadata > retry _ max_retries now defaults to 20.
