Control which k6 version runs your Synthetic Monitoring checks
Grafana Cloud Synthetic Monitoring now gives you control over which k6 major version runs your scripted and browser checks. With k6 version channels, you can stay on a stable release while k6 continues to evolve, and move to a new major version on your own terms.
Version channels map to k6 major versions, for example, v1.x or v2.x. Within a channel, minor and patch updates land automatically without breaking your scripts. When a new major version ships, your checks stay on their current channel. You can test the new channel on a single check, confirm your scripts run as expected, then migrate the rest at your own pace. If a channel is eventually deprecated, checks on it keep running and Synthetic Monitoring surfaces a clear migration prompt so the transition is never a surprise.
To set a channel, open any scripted or browser check, go to the Script step, and choose from the k6 version channel dropdown.
