Linux Server Health - Node Exporter

A reusable Grafana dashboard for monitoring Linux servers using Prometheus and Node Exporter.

Metrics

The dashboard provides panels for:

• CPU usage
• 1-minute load average
• Memory usage
• Root filesystem usage
• Disk read/write throughput
• Network receive/transmit throughput
• Root filesystem available space
• System uptime

Requirements

• Grafana
• Prometheus
• Prometheus Node Exporter

Import

1. Open Dashboards → Import in Grafana.
2. Upload the dashboard JSON file.
3. Select your Prometheus data source.
4. Select the appropriate job and instance values.
5. Save the dashboard.

Prometheus Metrics

The dashboard uses standard Node Exporter metrics, including:

• node_cpu_seconds_total
• node_load1
• node_memory_MemAvailable_bytes
• node_memory_MemTotal_bytes
• node_filesystem_avail_bytes
• node_filesystem_size_bytes
• node_disk_read_bytes_total
• node_disk_written_bytes_total
• node_network_receive_bytes_total
• node_network_transmit_bytes_total
• node_boot_time_seconds

Multiple Servers

The dashboard includes job and instance variables so the same dashboard can be used to monitor multiple Linux servers from a single Prometheus installation.
