About this session

It’s not a GrafanaCON without a Grafana release! Join Mitch Seaman, Senior Director of Product, and Mihaela Maior, Director of Engineering, for our annual deep dive into the latest major release of your favorite dashboarding tool: Grafana 12. They’ll be joined onstage by the engineers who are building the new features and functionality for Grafana: from dashboards as code, config in git and dynamic dashboards to updates to alerting, and the app platform, and beyond.

Stephanie is a backend software engineer working on App Platform. Prior to working on app platform, she was working on Grafana Cloud, including Private Data Source Connect. Stephanie has a masters degree in computer science and previously worked on IP video solutions and machine learning to detect cancer.

Mihaela is a senior leader with a keen interest in open leadership, agile mindset, and value creation. Since joining Grafana Labs, she has been leading a growing engineering team focused on visualizing, sharing, and correlating data using Grafana. In her free time, which is shared with her family and dogs, Mihaela enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors.

Bogdan Matei is a Software Engineer with expertise in observability systems, currently leading the efforts to enhance the creation and editing experience for Grafana dashboards. As a key contributor to Grafana’s ecosystem, Bogdan co-developed Grafana Faro, the innovative frontend telemetry platform that simplifies web application instrumentation for developers. He also played a significant role in building Grafana Application Observability, which delivers sophisticated visualization capabilities that seamlessly integrate traces, metrics, and logs for holistic application monitoring. His portfolio extends to contributions on additional significant initiatives including Grafana Unified Alerting and Grafana Scenes.

    Ryan is a Distinguished Engineer at Grafana Labs. Before joining the company, he was the leading community contributor to the open source Grafana project. Ryan has worked as a software engineer at Makani and Natel Energy, where he implemented Grafana to help run next-generation hydropower plants. He received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Visual Arts from UC San Diego and a Master of Science from the Media Lab at MIT.

      Jean-Philippe is a member of the Alerting Team that runs alerting at Grafana Labs on a global scale. They make sure you can run either 1 or 100,000 alerts, and everything in between, without ever missing an evaluation.

      Mitch is the Senior Director of Product for Grafana, the world’s most popular open source dashboard tool. He was also its first product manager, joining in 2019 when Torkel decided he could finally use a hand working with customers and deciding what to improve next.
