Use Grafana Assistant for investigation
In this milestone, you use Grafana Assistant to analyze incident data and receive AI-powered insights for root cause analysis.
Grafana Assistant is an AI-powered tool integrated into RCA Workbench that helps accelerate incident investigation by analyzing correlated telemetry data and providing intelligent insights. Instead of manually piecing together metrics, logs, and traces, you can ask Assistant natural language questions to quickly identify patterns and potential root causes.
To use Grafana Assistant in RCA Workbench, complete the following steps:
In RCA Workbench, click Analyze RCA Workbench in the lower right corner to open the Grafana Assistant chat interface.
Ask Assistant to analyze the incident data. For example, type:
- “What caused this incident?”
- “Summarize the correlated metrics”
- “What anomalies do you see in the logs?”
- “Which services were most affected?”
Review the AI-generated insights and recommendations provided by Assistant.
Ask follow-up questions to dive deeper into specific aspects of the investigation.
For example, if Assistant identifies a database issue, ask “Show me the database connection metrics during this time.”
Use Assistant’s insights to validate your investigation findings and identify areas that need further examination.
