# Install Kafka dashboards and alerts

The Grafana Cloud Kafka integration comes with pre-built dashboards and alerts that you can use immediately. In this milestone, you install those dashboards and alerts, then navigate to confirm they are available.

> **Did you know?** You aren’t limited to using the pre-built dashboards and alerts. You can create your own custom dashboards and alerts to meet your specific monitoring needs.

1. On the Kafka integration page, scroll down to the **Install dashboards and alerts** section and click **Install**. You should see the message: **Dashboards and alerts have been installed.**
2. Click **View Dashboards** to open the Kafka dashboards folder. A folder containing the Kafka dashboards appears.
3. To see the installed alerts, click the **Home** button in the top left corner of the screen. The left-side menu appears.
4. Navigate to **Alerts & IRM > Alerting > Alert rules**.

The Alert rules page shows all active alerts. Kafka integration alerts begin with **integrations-kafka**.

In the next milestone, you verify that Kafka metrics are flowing to Grafana Cloud.
