Enter Infinity data source authentication credentials
The Infinity data source supports a variety of authentication methods. In this milestone, you configure basic authentication. For more information about other supported methods of authentication, refer to Authentication.
Authentication is set up on the endpoint server during its initial configuration, so you’ll need to know which type of authentication the endpoint uses and have the corresponding credentials.
Note: If you’re using the example ThingSpeak URL from this journey, the endpoint is public and doesn’t require authentication. Leave the authentication method set to No Authentication and skip this milestone.
In this section, you set the authentication method your endpoint uses and enter its credentials.
If you’ve configured the Infinity endpoint to require authentication, complete the following steps:
On the data source configuration page, select the Authentication tab.
Under Auth type, select the authentication method your endpoint uses.
For example, select Basic Authentication.
Enter the user name for your endpoint.
Enter the password for your endpoint.
You configured the authentication method and credentials the Infinity data source uses to reach your endpoint.
In the next step of your journey, you’ll test the connection to the JSON endpoint.
