Monitor HAProxy load balancers in Grafana Cloud
Welcome to the Grafana learning path that walks you through monitoring HAProxy load balancers using Grafana Cloud.
HAProxy is a widely used open source load balancer and proxy server. This path guides you through installing and configuring the HAProxy integration so you can collect frontend and backend metrics, visualize them on prebuilt dashboards, and quickly identify connection and latency issues.
Here’s what to expect
When you complete this path, you’ll be able to:
- Describe the value of monitoring load balancers with Grafana Cloud
- Install and configure Grafana Alloy to collect HAProxy metrics
- Configure HAProxy to expose its stats endpoint for metric collection
- Use prebuilt dashboards to monitor frontend traffic, backend health, and latency
Before you begin
Before you monitor HAProxy load balancers, ensure you have:
- An HAProxy server running version 1.6 or later.
- Administrative access to the HAProxy server to edit its configuration.
- Configured your firewall to allow outbound HTTPS (port 443) to
*.grafana.net.
