Learn how to explore all your services in Profiles Drilldown and focus on a profile type.

Explore your services

This journey uses a Grafana Pyroscope data source named grafanacloud-play-profiles that contains demo profiling data. The next step checks whether you already have it and helps you add it if you don’t.

With the data source in place, choose it by name in Profiles Drilldown.

To explore your services, complete the following steps:

  1. If you see the Welcome to Grafana Profiles Drilldown onboarding page, read through it and click X when you’re done.

  3. Open the All services view. If you’re already there, click Skip.

  4. Select grafanacloud-play-profiles as the Data source.

    The All services view shows a chart for each service.

  5. In the Quick filter, type checkout so checkoutservice is on screen.

  6. Make sure the CPU profile type (process_cpu/cpu) is selected.

Optional detour: before you look into labels, open Profile types for checkoutservice to see graphs for each profile type.

  1. On the checkoutservice panel, click Profile types. This tab shows each profile type available for this service. Each panel has Labels and Flame graph shortcuts.

  2. Return to the All services view to continue. If you’re already there, click Skip.
