Explore profiles using Profiles Drilldown
Welcome to this learning path on Grafana Profiles Drilldown. Profiles Drilldown is a Grafana app for browsing profiling data from Grafana Pyroscope. It’s a queryless experience for browsing and analyzing profiling data: you move through services, labels, and flame graphs without writing queries by hand.
You use profiles to find where an application spends resources such as CPU and memory, so you can spot bottlenecks and diagnose performance issues.
In this journey, you’ll open Profiles Drilldown, explore services and labels, read a flame graph, and compare two flame graphs to root cause an existing performance issue.
Here’s what to expect
When you complete this journey, you’ll be able to:
- Open Profiles Drilldown and explore your services
- Group a service by labels to isolate an anomaly
- Read a flame graph to see where a service spends its resources
- Compare two flame graphs with Diff flame graph
- Optionally use Grafana Assistant or flame graph AI to explain what you’re looking at
Before you begin
Before you use Profiles Drilldown, ensure that you:
- Are on either play.grafana.org, or a Grafana instance where you can create a data source.
- Have Profiles Drilldown available in that environment.
