Copy the API URL and Instance ID from Agent Observability, the two values that become AGENTO11Y_ENDPOINT and AGENTO11Y_AUTH_TENANT_ID.

Copy the API URL and Instance ID

The SDK needs three values from Grafana Cloud. The first two, API URL and Instance ID, come from Agent Observability itself. Save both somewhere you can find them later, such as a notes file. Milestone 4 turns them into environment variables.

Open the setup screen, copy the two values, and save them for later.

  1. Go to Agent Observability.

  2. Click Start setup.

  3. Under Your credentials, copy API URL and save it somewhere, such as a notes file.

    This is the value for AGENTO11Y_ENDPOINT. You set that environment variable to this URL later. The SDK reads it when you create the client, and sends generation data to that address.

  4. Copy Instance ID and save it in the same place.

    It is the numeric Grafana Cloud stack ID, and the value for AGENTO11Y_AUTH_TENANT_ID. You set that environment variable to this ID later. The SDK uses it to say which stack the data belongs to.
