# Identify the source of billable activity

Understanding which products contribute to your monthly costs helps you make informed decisions about optimization and resource allocation. The billing dashboard provides detailed breakdowns that make it easy to identify your largest cost drivers.

In this milestone, you’ll analyze your usage patterns and identify the products that contribute most to your monthly bill.

1. In the Billing/Usage dashboard, review the **Current Billable Usage Cost by Product** panel.
2. Compare the cost values to identify which products contribute most to your total bill. In the preceding example, with a projected monthly cost of $3,100, the `VUh (k6)` cost is the primary cost driver.
3. Scroll down on the Billing/Usage dashboard and expand the row for the product that contributes to the highest costs. For example, locate and expand the **k6 Virtual User Hours (VUh)** row.
4. Review the time series panels to understand usage trends.

Key insights to look for:

- **Primary cost drivers**: Identify which products consume most of your budget.
- **Usage patterns**: Determine whether your costs are steady or have significant fluctuations.
- **Growth trends**: Identify which products are increasing in cost over time.

In the next milestone, you’ll learn how these costs are calculated so you can make informed optimization decisions.
