# Configure handling and select a contact point

In this milestone, you keep the default no-data and error handling, then choose where notifications go when the alert fires.

1. In the **Set evaluation behavior** section, click **Configure no data and error handling** to expand the options.
   
   Leave both drop-downs at their defaults: **No Data** for no data or all null values, and **Error** for execution error or timeout.
2. In the **Configure notifications** section, open the **Contact point** picker and choose a contact point available on your stack.

Your rule has handling defaults and a contact point. Next, you write the notification message and save the rule.
