Search and filter metrics
Use metrics search and filtering to narrow your data and focus on specific systems, services, or time frames. This targeted approach is an important first step in effectively using Metrics Drilldown.
To search and filter metrics, complete the following steps:
Sign in to your Grafana Cloud environment, for example
mystack.grafana.net.On the Grafana Cloud home page, open the navigation menu on the left side of the screen and click Drilldown > Metrics.
Click Let’s start.
Select the data source you want to query.
The Metrics Drilldown interface containing a visualization for each metric appears.
Use one of the following methods to reduce the number of metrics you see:
Select a filter in the Filter by label values field.
Enter a search expression in the Search metrics field and press Enter.
For example, enter
cpu.The metrics that match the search or filter expression appear.
After you’ve located the metrics of interest, you’ll continue your investigation.
