You’ve chosen the IIS integration. A great choice for monitoring Windows web servers.

What you’re about to do is a hands-on learning path. This isn’t just reading. You’ll configure IIS performance counters, install Grafana Alloy, and connect the IIS integration to Grafana Cloud.

By the end, you’ll have metrics flowing from your IIS web server to Grafana Cloud, with pre-built dashboards showing request rates, active connections, application pool health, and response times.

We’re starting at milestone 2 since you’ve already covered the “why” of integrations in this course. The journey picks up with selecting the IIS integration and then walks you through configuring performance counters and installing Alloy.

Each milestone below expands to show you exactly what to do. Work through them in order, as each milestone builds on the previous one. You’ll need administrator access to your Windows server to configure IIS and install Alloy.

When you’ve completed all the milestones, click the “Complete Path” button below to celebrate your success.
