# What installing an integration adds

When you install an integration, Grafana Cloud adds a dashboard folder and default alert rules for that technology. The integration also includes Grafana Alloy configuration snippets that you apply on the collector.

- **Dashboard folder**: Prebuilt dashboards for the integration
- **Alert rules**: Default alert rules grouped in their own namespace
- **Alloy configuration**: Snippets you apply on the collector so it collects data for that technology

## It uninstalls cleanly

An integration’s dashboards and alert rules live in their own folder and namespace. When you uninstall the integration, Grafana Cloud removes them cleanly, including any custom dashboards and alerts you saved in those default locations. To keep your own work, save it in a separate folder so it persists.
