## What installing an integration adds

When you install an integration, Grafana Cloud sets up three things for that technology:

- **Alloy configuration**: Preconfigured snippets that set up data collection
- **Dashboard folder**: Prebuilt dashboards for the integration
- **Alert rules**: Default alert rules grouped in their own namespace

## It uninstalls cleanly

An integration’s dashboards and alert rules live in their own folder and namespace. When you uninstall the integration, Grafana Cloud removes them cleanly, including any custom dashboards and alerts you saved in those default locations. To keep your own work, save it in a separate folder so it persists.
