# Linux server integration

The Linux server integration monitors the health and performance of Linux servers.

|--------------------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| **What it’s for** | Monitoring health and performance of Linux servers |
| **Under the hood** | Uses node\_exporter (`prometheus.exporter.unix`) to collect host metrics |

## Metrics collected

The integration collects the core host metrics that show server health:

- **CPU**: Usage, load average, per-core stats
- **Memory**: Used, available, buffers, cache
- **Disk**: Usage, I/O, latency, IOPS
- **Network**: Bandwidth, packets, errors
- **Filesystem**: Mount points, inodes
- **Processes**: Running and blocked process counts

## What to know

This integration offers:

- Prebuilt dashboards, including fleet overview and host overview. The integration reference lists seven dashboards.
- Prebuilt alerts for high CPU, high memory use, and low free disk space
- Host metrics: CPU, memory, disk, network
- node\_exporter (`prometheus.exporter.unix`) collects the host metrics
