What you don’t need

  • No external data source. The hands-on path installs the QuickPizza demo app for you.
  • No Go template syntax. Notification templates are covered in a later journey.
  • No PromQL. Every query in this journey uses Builder mode.

Script

Here’s what you need before starting the hands-on work.

You need a Grafana Cloud account. The free tier is sufficient.

Your account needs permission to create and manage alert rules, and to install the demo data used in the path.

You don’t need to install the QuickPizza demo app ahead of time. The hands-on path installs it for you. You don’t need any query language experience. Every query is built visually. Notification templates are covered in a later journey.
