# Add permissions to create new correlations

## Before you begin

Adding access to create correlations for [Viewers and Editors](../../roles-and-permissions/) is available with [Role-based access control](../../roles-and-permissions/access-control/).

## Add permissions to create correlations

1. Go to the **Administration** section in Grafana.
2. Under **Users and access**, open the **Users** page.
3. Select the user to be granted access to create correlations.
4. Add *Data sources writer* role.
