Request trace deletion

Grafana Cloud Traces retains tracing data for 30 days by default. After this time period, tracing data is deleted.

In some cases, you may need to delete sensitive data that has been leaked accidentally into traces.

By working with Grafana Support, you can identify the data to delete and Support can remove it for you.

After you’ve identified the information that needs to be removed, make sure that the source of this data is not included in new tracing data.

The template below provides the list of the information required to complete your request.

Note

You must be have organization administrator rights to request data removal.

  1. Open a support issue with Grafana Support.

  2. In the body of your issue, answer these questions:

    • Is the deletion by query and time range or for the deletion of all tenant data?
    • What is the name of your hosted Grafana Cloud stack?
    • What is the deletion time range (in UTC format)?
    • What are the Trace IDs or the TraceQL query for the traces to be deleted? The number of traces should not exceed 1,000.
  3. Submit your issue.

Grafana Support will work with you to remove the information from Grafana Cloud Traces.
