Data flow in Grafana Fleet Management visualizes how telemetry flows from collectors through clusters and namespaces to the destinations that receive it. Destinations include Grafana Cloud and other OpenTelemetry Protocol (OTLP) or third-party endpoints.

## What you can do with data flow

Use data flow to identify, investigate, or evaluate your telemetry collection:

- **Find active collectors and signals:** See which parts of your fleet send metrics, logs, traces, and profiles.
- **Follow data to its destination:** See which destinations receive that telemetry.
- **Compare usage and cost:** Identify the telemetry sources with the largest usage or estimated cost impact.
- **Track trends:** Identify unexpected spikes in your usage and estimated costs.
- **Prioritize optimization:** Use trends and insights to prioritize optimization opportunities and make informed decisions about observability investment.

Cost values in data flow are estimates, not your invoice. For exact billing amounts, use [Cost Management and Billing](https://grafana.com/docs/grafana-cloud/platform/cost-management-and-billing/).
