# View dashboards in the Grafana mobile app

> Note
>
> Dashboards on mobile is currently in [public preview](/docs/release-life-cycle/). Grafana Labs offers limited support, and breaking changes might occur prior to the feature being made generally available.

Open your Grafana dashboards and panels from the Grafana mobile app, and star the ones you check most so they’re waiting for you in the app **Home**.

## Before you begin

Dashboards on mobile in public preview and not enabled by default. Turn on **Dashboards** under **Settings** > **Products**. Refer to [Choose which products you see](/docs/grafana-cloud/platform/mobile-app/settings/#choose-which-products-you-see).

## Find dashboards

Tap **Browse**, then **Dashboards**.

The list starts with your folders, along with any dashboards that aren’t in a folder. Dashboards inside a folder don’t appear at this level, so tap a folder to see what’s in it, or search for one. Inside a folder, the screen takes the folder’s name, and you go back the way you came, because there’s no folder path to tap.

To search, use the **Search** field above the list. Results update as you type. From the top level, search looks across all your folders. Inside a folder, it only looks in that folder.

The list doesn’t refresh when you pull down on it.

When there’s nothing to show, the app says **This folder doesn’t have any dashboards yet**. The same message appears when a search finds nothing and when you’re at the top level, so treat it as a general empty state rather than as a statement about folders. If the app can’t reach Grafana, it shows **Connection error**. Tap **Try again**.

## View a dashboard

Tap a dashboard to open it. The dashboard opens as it appears in Grafana, without the surrounding navigation, and shows the last 7 days.

The Grafana dashboard controls stay along the top, so you change the time range, refresh, and set template variables exactly as you would on the web. Dashboards follow the light or dark theme you chose for the app, and times match your device’s time zone.

To open a single panel full screen, tap the panel’s title. A small chevron marks the titles you can tap. Tapping the visualization itself doesn’t open the panel, but it stays interactive, so you can still bring up tooltips. Full screen works in both portrait and landscape, and it keeps the time range and variables you set on the dashboard.

Text panels and row headers don’t open full screen.

If a dashboard can’t load, the app shows a placeholder with a refresh icon and no message. Tap the icon to try again.

## Star dashboards and panels

Star the dashboards and panels you check often so you can reach them from **Home**.

To star a dashboard, tap the star at the top of the dashboard. Dashboard stars are shared with Grafana, so a dashboard you star in the app is starred in Grafana too, and dashboards you starred in Grafana show as starred here.

To star a panel, open it full screen first, then tap the star at the top. You can’t star a panel from **Home**. Unlike dashboard stars, panel stars are saved on your device for each connected Grafana Cloud stack, so they don’t appear in Grafana and they don’t follow you to another device.

Starred items appear in the **Starred dashboards** section on **Home**. Dashboards are listed by name with their tags, and starred panels sit below them in a row you swipe through, each one showing live data. Tap a panel there to open it full screen. Until you star something, the section reads **Star dashboards and panels to see them here**.

## Open dashboards from Assistant

When an Assistant answer includes a dashboard link, tap the link to open that dashboard in the app, in the same view you get from **Browse**. Tap back to return to your conversation.

If you’ve turned **Dashboards** off, those links open in your device’s browser instead.
