Install a Page as an app

You can install a published Page as an app on your computer or phone. The app opens that Page by itself, without Grafana’s navigation, and signs in with your Grafana session.

Before you begin

You need access to the Page in Grafana.
Install the app from the Page itself. Each installed app opens one Page.

Install from Chrome or Edge

Chrome and Edge install the app from the Page’s actions menu.

Open the Page.
Click the actions menu (⋮), then click Install as app.
Confirm in the browser prompt.

If the browser doesn’t show a prompt, Install as app opens a dialog with the steps for your browser. In that case the app may already be installed, so open it from your apps or Dock.

Add to the Home Screen on iPhone or iPad

Safari adds the Page to your home screen from its Share sheet.

Open the Page in Safari.
Tap the actions menu (⋮), then tap Install as app to mark the Page for installation.
Tap Share, then tap Add to Home Screen.

Add to the Dock in Safari on Mac

Safari on Mac adds the Page to your Dock.

Open the Page in Safari.
Click the actions menu (⋮), then click Install as app to mark the Page for installation.
Choose File, then choose Add to Dock.

Use the installed app

The installed app opens the Page full size, with Grafana’s navigation and the Page toolbar hidden. Datasource queries run with your own permissions, as they do in Grafana.

The app uses your browser’s Grafana session. When the session expires, sign in again in the app. To use the Page toolbar or the rest of Grafana, open the Page in your browser.
