This page is also available in Markdown, which may be easier for automated readers and AI tools to parse than HTML. The Markdown version is available at https://grafana.com/docs/grafana-cloud/observe-and-act/monitor-applications/frontend-observability/mobile/quickstart.md, or by sending Accept: text/markdown to https://grafana.com/docs/grafana-cloud/observe-and-act/monitor-applications/frontend-observability/mobile/quickstart/. Note
Observability for Mobile is currently in private preview. Grafana Labs offers support on a best-effort basis, and breaking changes might occur prior to the feature being made generally available.

Get telemetry data flowing from your mobile application to Grafana Cloud in less than 5 minutes.
Before you begin
- A Grafana Cloud account (sign up for free)
- A React Native or Flutter mobile application
Create a mobile application
Every app you instrument needs its own application in Grafana Cloud. This application is what ties the telemetry your SDK sends to one place where you can view it.
To create a mobile application:
- In Grafana Cloud, navigate to Observability > Frontend.
- Click Create New, then select Mobile Application.
- Enter an Application name.
- Click Next.
Instrument your application
Select your platform and follow its setup guide to install the SDK and initialize it with the snippet generated for your application:
The snippet Grafana Cloud generates for you is pre-filled with your app name and collector endpoint. No additional configuration is needed to start sending data.
Enable alerting (optional)
Before you finish the wizard, you can turn on predefined alerts so you don’t have to come back and set them up separately. These cover error spikes, slow app start, frozen frames, low frame rate, and high network latency. Skip this if you’d rather see your data first; you can configure alerts later from the application’s settings page. Click Complete to finish setup.
View your data
After you have created an application in Grafana Cloud and instrumented your application with the appropriate SDK, you can view your data.
To view your data:
- Run your application on a simulator or device.
- Navigate through a few screens or trigger some interactions.
- Return to Observability > Frontend in Grafana Cloud.
- Select your application to see real-time performance data, errors, and user sessions.
Next steps
- Set up React Native or Flutter instrumentation in full, including error boundaries, user action tracking, and custom events
