# Release notes for Application Observability plugin 1.49

## 1.49.0

Released on 2025-02-24.

- Add role-based access control (RBAC) support with two new Application Observability specific roles: Application Observability Admin and Application Observability Viewer
- Align with OTEL semantic conventions and remove `0` bucket from duration histograms generated by the Tempo metrics generator. This feature is not retroactive. It applies only when enabling Tempo metrics generation.
- Add integration with demo data sources. You can temporarily override Application Observability data sources with demo data sources for testing purposes.
- Fix quality report page getting stuck in loading state for services that do not have a runtime dashboard
