Integrate Application Observability with Frontend Observability

You can integrate Application Performance Monitoring (APM) with Real User Monitoring (RUM) and include services that are monitored with Grafana Cloud Frontend Observability in the Service Map and Service Graph.

Generate metrics for web applications and mobile devices

1. Navigate to Observability > Configuration > Traces metrics generation in your Grafana Cloud instance.
2. Select the Filter rules tab.
3. Edit the span kind rule to add Client and Producer. Keep Server and Consumer selected so that metrics continue to be generated for your backend services.

Navigate between frontend and backend monitoring seamlessly

After generating metrics for web applications and mobile devices, you can:

• easily navigate between Application Observability Services and Real User Monitoring services.
• navigate between traces in Application Observability and user sessions in Frontend Observability.
