# Alert and measure reliability

Detect problems early and measure the reliability of your services with Grafana Alerting and SLOs.

## Overview

Use **Grafana Alerting** and **Grafana SLO** to detect issues early and measure the reliability of your services.

**Grafana Alerting** monitors your incoming metrics and logs and notifies you when specific conditions occur. It can route alerts to [Grafana IRM](/docs/grafana-cloud/observe-and-act/respond-to-incidents/irm/) for automated escalation and response.

**Service Level Objectives (SLOs)** define reliability targets and, paired with Grafana Alerting, enable proactive detection so teams can reduce alert fatigue, focus on reliability, and provide better service to their customers.
