# Adaptive Profiles

Continuously profile every service at a reduced sample rate, with full-resolution boosts on demand.

* * *

## Overview

Adaptive Profiles lets you keep continuous profiling on for every service in your stack without paying for full-resolution data you don’t need. Each service runs at a 10% profiling sample rate by default. When you need more detail, Adaptive Profiles boosts a service to full resolution on demand, or automatically after a deployment, then returns to the default rate when the boost expires.

## Why use Adaptive Profiles?

With Adaptive Profiles, you can profile every service in your stack continuously instead of having to choose which to leave out. You keep cost predictable, and still get full-resolution data at the moments that matter most, such as after a deployment or during a performance investigation.

To learn more about the value of continuous profiling, refer to [Introduction to Cloud Profiles](/docs/grafana-cloud/monitor-applications/profiles/introduction/).
