# Create alerts for Frontend Observability

Proactively monitor your frontend applications with alerting based on Faro data. Frontend Observability provides predefined alerts that automatically fire when critical metrics breach specified thresholds, enabling you to detect and respond to performance degradations and errors before they significantly impact users.

## How alerting works

Frontend Observability alerts are built on Grafana-managed alerts. When you enable alerting, Grafana Cloud creates data source-managed recording rules that generate metrics series based on your frontend application’s `app-id`. These metrics power alert rules that monitor critical frontend performance indicators and error rates.

## Available alerts

Frontend Observability includes preconfigured alerts for:

- **Error monitoring**: New errors and increasing error counts
- **Web Vitals**: Core Web Vitals metrics (LCP, FID, CLS) and additional performance metrics (TTFB, FCP, INP)
- **Performance degradation**: Day-over-day comparisons to detect trends

## Get started

To learn how to configure and manage alerts for your frontend applications, refer to [Frontend Observability alerts](/docs/grafana-cloud/monitor-applications/frontend-observability/create-alerts/alerting/).

## Next steps

After setting up alerts:

- Configure [settings and policies](/docs/grafana-cloud/monitor-applications/frontend-observability/settings-and-policies/) to control access and manage data privacy
- [Integrate with other tools](/docs/grafana-cloud/monitor-applications/frontend-observability/integrate/) for comprehensive observability
